Con motivo del 53 Aniversario de la Escuela Secundaria Técnica número 2, Luis Romero Soto, anteriormente conocida como Escuela Secundaria Técnica Agropecuaria (ETA) número 54, la presidenta municipal interina de San Juan del Río, destacó que este centro educativo, ubicado en la colonia de Nuevo San Isidro, es de suma importancia, ya que fue la primera escuela con enfoque agropecuario en el municipio, llevando el nombre de un emblemático personaje sanjuanense, el Ingeniero Luis Romero Soto.
“La educación es sin duda la herramienta más poderosa que tienen los niños, jóvenes y adultos, no solo para cambiar su entorno, sino para materializar cada una de sus aspiraciones. Hoy celebramos a una institución que ha dejado huella en nuestro municipio, en la que, desde el año 1971, se han formado generaciones de jóvenes exitosos que han marcado el desarrollo de nuestra ciudad, y que representan con gran orgullo a nuestro querido San Juan del Río”, mencionó.
Durante el evento, se entregaron reconocimientos a los maestros fundadores: Francisco Munguía Panti y Procopio Guerrero Baldazo, así como también se realizaron actividades como Honores a la Bandera y la demostración de artes marciales por parte de los alumnos del taller de Taekwondo.
El director de la Escuela Secundaria Técnica número 2, resaltó que la institución educativa es una de las más importantes en el municipio, ya que otorga conocimientos del sector primario, el cual, es esencial para el desarrollo del país. Asimismo comentó que el plantel mantiene metas y propósitos de mejora continua, lo que le ha permitido forjar alumnos de excelencia.
“Nuestra escuela ha dado a la sociedad de San Juan del Río, 50 generaciones, mismas que ha generado excelentes profesionistas en cada uno de los campos del conocimiento a través del tiempo, y lo seguirá haciendo con estas nuevas generaciones que estamos preparando en cada ciclo escolar”, dijo.
Actualmente el plantel cuenta con una matrícula de 630 alumnos, distribuidos en 16 grupos que conforman los niveles de primer, segundo y tercer año de secundaria.
