George Orwell fue el autor de “Rebelión en la granja” y “1984”, esta última una profunda novela anti-utópica que describe un mundo empobrecido y dividido por la guerra permanente y sin tregua entre tres grandes superpotencias.
Las necesidades de esta guerra obligan en el relato a estos Estados a ejercer un control absoluto sobre sus respectivas poblaciones. Se trata de sociedades totalitarias en donde un gobierno todo poderoso somete por completo a la ciudadanía mediante la vigilancia policiaca permanente.
