Jordison formó Slipknot en su natal Des Moines, Iowa junto al percusionista Shawn Crahan y el bajista Paul Gray en 1995. Luego de casi dos décadas juntos, en diciembre del 2013, se anunció que el baterista y la banda se separaban, aunque posteriormente Jordison dijo que en realidad lo habían despedido.
